How it works

FRIDA Frequency Management System & Communication Planning Deployment and Usage:
Server Solution
Typically a multiuser environment with central network database and data sharing.
Stand alone solution
Run FRIDA on any Desktop/Laptop for Field operations.
Combinations of the above
Based on roles and your defined hierarchical planning organisation you can import/export planning data accordingly. Use your desktop/laptop solution to extract planning data from the central database when connected to the IT network.
Platform Support
Windows 2000/XP.
Pre-planning
FRIDA includes an Order of Battle Management (OBM) module allowing the user to construct the units involved in the communications and frequency planning scenario. The units can range from known civilian transmitters, opposing forces known transmitters and own units.
To each unit several communication nodes may be attached. Within these nodes, the radio sets and/or radio stations may be installed.

Planning
The radio nets and communications links are established between the radio nets, and the units are deployed on the map. Using coverage calculation, the best suitable positions for the radio nodes or the (re-) transmitters may be found independent on the actual center of mass for the unit

Frequency management - Allocation/Assignment
The superior frequency managment office will often distribute frequencies as allocations and not assigned to a specific radio net or a telecommunication link. FRIDA may receive frequency requirement from one or many units and allocate frequencies according to the requirement.
The receiving units frequency management officer can thereafter assign frequencies to the specific radio nets and telecommunication links.

Frequency management - Requirement
Frequencies are often a limited resource during large scale operations, both during military operations and during other crisis. FRIDA will calculate the required amount of frequencies for all frequency bands from HF to SHF.
